Let's see how it turns out to be. Under the earlier setup, Myntra was best managed online store for apparels and related items, might not be the same case when other sellers start selling items.
Personally do not like market place models so much. Many sellers turn out to be frauds selling duplicate , damaged goods or cancels the orders at will. Though can get refunds , reliability of the site goes down.
Same issues. Even ebay can't ensure that fraud dealers are kept away, these new entrants are surely going to find it very tough to manage during the initial phase. Not many prefer to buy from 3rd party sellers at Flipkart.
very true. Few days back , Just to check it out , I tried to make one listing at tradus after opening a seller's account. Listed some item at crazy steal prices and it was successfully listed and was available for all to buy !! By that time I didn't even entered my full details in my a/c ( not even bank details , etc ). I removed the listing after 10 minutes as didn't wanted anyone to order that and wait for refunds. This happened with Tradus but I doubt most others are any different. Actually marketplace sites should have some kind of a control over the 3rd party listings. 1) Sellers should be penalized for not fulfilling the delivery ( exceptions can be allowed in some cases like for example where seller shipped 100 pcs out of 105 pcs sold of the same item ) 2) A token deposit should be taken from new sellers just to see if they are serious sellers. 3) 10 major complaints in a given time frame of say like 1 month should lead to removal of the seller. 4) 5% negative feedback should lead to removal of the seller. 5) Listings from new sellers should get approval from them before actually being listed for public. Just few points I could think of hand in a hurry.
If the seller receives the order and cancels it later then Tradus charges commission which they were entitled to receive in case the order was processed. So, the seller bears the loss in this case. Coming to the topic, I too personally don't like marketplace system. Even Paytm is launching marketplace very soon.
Tradus is worst in every aspect. But even ebay isn't able to keep consumers interest at top. Once a seller was selling items at price more than its MRP. Ebay customer support simply refused to entertain the complaint and provided an email id. Reported the matter there, but more than six months have passed but they didn't reply even once! 2nd case, the seller didn't ship the item and put the refund on hold. I left a negative review for the seller, which ebay promptly removed at seller's request. Maybe at some point of time they can enforce such strict checks, but current environment not conducive to this. Either they can compensate buyers on their own(not possible for Indian stores though), or better option is to fulfil items from marketplace owned warehouse. Seller will think twice before sending defective item for storage at Amazon fulfilment centre.
I think till now you have ordered all item from Myntra itself, I can't see any 3rd party seller. Myntra never leaves any scope for complaint
But what about deals like Mega deals? Some dealers sell outdated product under this, which they can't sell otherwise. If he sells 100 items at Re 1 each totalling Rs 100, Tradus gets Rs 200 as convenience fees. Not more than 10 customers will bother to complain, so even if Tradus deducts Rs 10 + 20% penalty, still seller is getting Rs 88. Really? I think they are only enabling the access to their Paytm Cash at other websites, like Airtel Money.
In my example which I mentioned , How will they charge any commission I have not given any authority to them to charge my bank a/c. In fact I could have even given my name/address/bank details fake if wanted to. Though me being a seller wouldn't gain anything either , reliability of the site can be taken for a ride if I wanted to and money of customers stuck for few days at least.
More than MRP : ( excluding or including shipping ) and did seller mentioned inflated MRP ? I have seen plenty of items on ebay selling at MRP + shipping so actually making it more than MRP. Ebay CC can be ultra slow or in fact ultra senseless at times and so can be their refunds due to their go by the book policy for all transactions. They are commission minded as well and will close their eyes towards most power sellers / regular sellers even if they are doing wrong to keep their long term interest in mind. Though being a buyer at ebay is still I feel is much better than being a seller. Seller is always at the mercy of ebay and the customer and can be taken for a ride if they want. Being a buyer , My personal experience with ebay for over 400 orders ( over 80% from ebay.uk / .com , etc ) has been satisfactory. Never lost any money though some refunds were delayed. Being a seller , many times buyer wouldn't confirm the item receipt for few weeks or in fact never and payment is put on hold till all the deadlines pass for the buyer to revert back ( which are long on ebay ). Stopped selling ( not anything professional but sometimes used to sell unwanted items ) long ago with them. Just recall one example of ebay CC. Check my post in this below thread. http://onlinesasta.com/forum/thread...ef-roll-on-mrp-rs-100-rs-69.28816/#post-97488 I actually called ebay and sent email as soon as I got the message that they will be refunding my amount ( refund was actually done several days after and could have been stopped by them )
Even marketplace system is also coming. One of my friend has already registered as a seller on their upcoming website.
Yes bro, you are right as per your given example. But in actual, they charge commission by deducting the amount from the payouts to be released to the seller (regular seller). You are absolutely right that Tradus is not reliable as we can see in your case that how they approved the listing without proper verification. They have listed many documents that are required for registering as a seller. But in reality, they grant seller rights even if the person is not having all the documents.
MRP+Shipping is acceptable, but it was MRP+ Something + Shipping. Though seller changed the price after I contacted him, but ebay didn't reply or issue any refund. Selling/buying both seems to be a luck game at ebay. Once a seller shipped item but forgot to add the tracking details. I received the product as well as refund, as seller didn't raise a claim
Yes, after checking some news posts about this, it seems they are more interested in this marketplace model in conjunction with Paytm cash rather than enabling use of Paytm cash on other websites.
