@admin If moderators are finding it difficult to check for reposts, then better to put some automated system say add some text box for adding coupon code in posts and check using that code for duplicate posts.
I guess moderators are not able to go through each and every thread manually.. If mods will spare some time then it's actually not hard to find the reposts... Will still take your suggestion and will try to build some automated system which will not allow to post thread which is repost!!!
@Sasta all the repost are checked, sometime moderators are not online and cant do so. There is an option of report which other members are using and helping us. Instead of commenting if you can report this, will be more helpful. Daily we are resolving many reports ranging from repost to a deal suggestion, u can help us that way as other members are doing. Forum where daily large number of threads created in various section, its tough for 1-2 person to take care of everything. Members help will always be useful.
But do you think the forum would be able to attract new members if they are supposed to spend more time on reporting reposts/affiliate links/other rules violations than on browsing?
I am not saying spend time on reporting, if you find something during surfing then report. Most of the things are already been taken care off by the moderators, sometime if moderators are late and u think that some post related to u has issues then just report. Dont worry for every post. Why do you think report option is given for every member? If there is any minor/major issue one can raise the same, and that is always taken care off by moderators.
Usually if i find time i will report repost and other issues time to time.. If something i am not sure and major issue i will PM the details to Mod's or Admin.. So its matter of second to report while you go thro the posts..
Mind your tone Mr. moderator! The onus of ensuring compliance of rules lies with the moderation staff, not other members. So moderators can't be absolved by a statement like that(where you are blaming the person who is pointing out the deficiencies)! Check this http://onlinesasta.com/forum/threads/5-off-on-all-regular-and-sale-items.58287/#post-157070 Neither thread merged, nor any moderator replied! http://onlinesasta.com/forum/thread...nd-win-contest-exits-group.58177/#post-156590 Maybe, now excuse would be "You should have used Report/Repost buttons"
Yes Bro, You can tag Some Mod's or Admin then they will respond immediately when they are in online.. Also if repost you can enter the first post link.. That will be more useful to Mod's
Dude mind your language, just dont type whatever you think. I clearly said you can point what you think its not a compulsion, moderators are here to work and they are giving their efforts.
You are just pointing to my question, why it is so tough for you to understand "reporting a problem helps staff to resolve the issue faster" . I have clearly said in my reply "I am not saying spend time on reporting, if you find something during surfing then report." There are many consistent users who use report option for resolving small issues. That option is provided to support the members not to burden them with task. Every member has the responsibility of following rules and posting right content and if they find any issue regarding their post or any others they can message mods/report problems. I am not naming any member but I can tell that there are members who are helping forum grow well with such efforts, by using its resources and tools with their best use.
As the representative of the community, you need to choose your words wisely. You aren't supposed to blame a member who isn't violating any written rule of the forum. And I am knowing fully well how many members are actually helping the community grow. There is a difference between posting deals for the sake of credits and engaging in useful discussion.
Sasta I am not blaming you. I am just saying use report content option, if you want to help better. I dont have any personnel grudge with you that I'll blame you or say something rude. You are like other members to me only. If you can understand this small thing its great. You are serving forum well I dont have any second thoughts on that. Also other members are there who are also giving their best, here also I dont have second thoughts.
