if you are traveling within india than ipad makes less sense spending money for need of virtual presence. a budget tab about 8-10k will do. reason is you don't get good 2g/3g speed across nation so spending that extra dime and getting fluctuated speed will make you feel for choosing apple. it's great using indoors or at office on wifi or 3g. any android with 1.5 ghz processor, 1gb ram, 8 gv memory and calling facility works great for people on the move regularly in India and you'll spend just ~8k to get this.
