Looks good. Does the job but not perfectly (or close to perfectly).
The toasting is somewhat uneven. The reason may be - I saw that the heating wires were not equidistant. It seems it is clumsily manufactured. Also, some heating wires would be red hot, some would be dimmer.
Made in China.
Cord length is low.
It gives different results for different bread brands and types (e.g. white or whole wheat or multigrain).
The control dial is not "fine" enough. When I toast at 2, it is incomplete. When I toast at 3, it burns the bread. I wonder whats the use of the rest of the levels then. Try to keep between 2 and 3 does not make a difference.
To use it with whole wheat bread, I keep it at 2. Preheat it for half a minute (without the bread inside). Then stop it and add the bread slices. Let it toast. If incompletely toasted, toast it further for 10-20 seconds.
The same model is at my in-laws place, and they have the same experience with it.
It does the job. I am not unhappy with it, but I am not happy either.
I had an unbranded 4 slice toaster in London, bought from Tesco or Asda, which did a very good job. The dial was fine enough, and the toasting was very even. This one cannot beat that. Maybe I should have carried it back !
